I heard Bruce Pearl (University of Tennessee basketball coach) speak yesterday, and he was quite the motiviator. I can see why his basketball teams are so successful. It all comes down to “aTTiTude”. Notice the three “T’s” in attitude. Bruce Pearl says those stand for the following:
1. TALENT - surround yourself with people who are better than yourself.
2. TEAMWORK - work as a team to accomplish goals. Not everyone is the “star”. Everyone has a role. Always be ready to help.
3. TOLERANCE - Everyone has weaknesses. Learn to tolerate these weaknesses, while at the same time encouraging and developing their strengths.
I was fortunate to hear other great speakers yesterday, such as Lou Holtz, Zig Ziglar, and Rudolph Guliani, but I think the above is applicable in ALL situations in work and life. It will help me and I hope it will help you too. Have a great day.
